Oh joy. Tranmere on a Tuesday night for the replay. The incentive to win is an FA Cup third round trip to West Brom. While once more it was pleasing to see Posh prove impossible to break down – largely thanks to the talents of Joe Lewis – it was concerning to see a lack of activity at the business end of the pitch. McLean, Mackail-Smith and Boyd may all work hard and show the odd glimpse of magic, but none are playing to anywhere near the heights we all know they are capable of. Another worry for some fans is the lack of depth in the squad – especially up front and in the middle of the park, more so now that Micah Hyde has had his contract cancelled. One can only assume his rapid fall from club captain to car boot sale-fodder is due to a need to balance the wage budget when Gaby Zakuani signs permanently in January. In other news, Fergie’s been shortlisted for November Manager of the Month, the club shop’s got some woolly hats in and Tommy’s bird’s still in the jungle with Mr Sulu and that bloke out of Dollar.
