Posh's next signing?
Posh are understood to be closing in on the signature of Gillingham’s Canadian striker Simeon Jackson. Posh were previously linked with Jackson when he played for Rushden and Diamonds (remember them?) but the proposed fee at that time was considerably less than the expected £500,000+ figure being touted this week.
Jackson would join Gary Johnson’s other summer signings, midfielders James Wesolowski and Grant McCann, full-back Mark Little and striker Dave Hibbert. With four strikers on the books, would it mean either Aaron McLean or Craig Mackail-Smith is on his way out?
Time will tell, but McLean has thrown his toys out of his pram more than once and has been linked to a number of Championship clubs…
