Johnson begins rebuilding

Dave Dave Hibbert

Dave 'Dave' Hibbert

Gary Johnson has begun his rebuilding of the Posh squad with the signing of striker Dave Hibbert from Shrewsbury. The 25-year-old scored 15 goals for the Shrews last season and will supposedly offer us that elusive ‘something different up front’. Other rumours see Posh linked with a move for Leicester’s 22-year-old midfielder James Wesolowski. You can keep track of who’s coming in here and who’s going out here. So far, it’s a case of farewell and best wishes to: Danny Blanchett, Sam Gaughran, Billy Crook, Tom Williams, Jamie Day and Alfie Potter, with many more players you’d forgotten existed also on their way out. In other news, Posh have arranged pre-season friendlies at Rushden (July 17), Gillingham (July 20) and Kettering (August 2) and at home to West Ham on July 14 and Nottingham Forest on July 24.
